MOZART’S LIFE 1756/27 Jan, 8pm: Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart is born in Salzburg. 1761 Aged 5, Mozart composes his first works. 1762/3 The Mozart family makes its first artistic journey to Munich and Vienna. 1763/28 Feb Mozart’s first public concert appearance. 1763-1766 Travels with his parents and sister to Paris, London and Holland. 1767/12 Mar Premiere of K.35 The Observance of the First Commandment in Salzburg. 1767 Premiere of K.38 Apollo & Hyacinth. 1769-1771 First Italian journey to Verona, Milan, Bologna, Rome, Naples and Venice. 1771 Aug-Dec Second visit to Milan. 1772/3 Oct-Mar Third visit to Milan. 1777/9 Mozart travels with his mother to Mannheim and Paris. 1780/81 Mozart travels to Munich and Vienna. 1782 4 Aug Mozart marries Constanze Weber at St Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. 1784 21 Sep Mozart’s second son, Carl Thomas, is born. 1787 Jan/Feb Mozart makes his first visit to Prague. 1787 Oct/Nov Second visit to Prague (première of Don Giovanni) 1789 Apr/Jun Mozart travels to Berlin. Mozart was an inveterate traveller, visiting well over 100 cities and towns around Europe. To celebrate Mozart's 250th birthday in 2006 Travel for the Arts arranged a special programme of tours. Centred on Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace, and Vienna where he lived for many years. We also includes tours to Prague, Paris and elsewhere.
